Costumes in Culture
Costumes can be found in social culture to symbolise or celebrate people’s identity and nationality. Examples of national costume include the kilt from Scotland and the kimono from Japan. In addition, costumes are an important and traditional part of celebrations, festivals and holidays. Examples include Halloween with it’s supernatural or horror-related theme, Mardi Gras with it’s fun and fantasy theme, and Christmas or Easter with it’s mythical theme.
